In January 1998 we started what we called The Potter’s House Christian Ministries with a handful of local residents in a family living room and later moved our meetings to the Delportshoop Intermediary School.
Following the second administration of the newly democratic government of South Africa since 1994, Delportshoop was amalgamated into the broader Dikgatlhong Municipality with Barkly West and Windsorton in the year 2000, and our communities opened up for integration. The church, having been situated at the eastern end of Delportshoop in a predominantly coloured area, decided to transform itself by moving into a larger space at 23 Bredenkamp Street which is on the western edge of the town and was predominantly white. We acquired that space from the Salvation Army on a care-taking basis with an intention to establish a multi-purpose Community Center.
This service area was chosen because it is the area in which our residents primarily shop, go to school, use services, and many work. It is also a bridge area connecting our neighborhoods of great ethnic and age diversity, and one of our core values is working toward reconciliation.
We began working towards creating a non-profit community development organization to sustain the center and its projects, and renamed the church to Revival Fires Church International in 2003. As the church grew and found expression in its vision to be “a local church with a global mission”, affiliation to Harvester International Ministries with its headquarters in Cape Town was sought and in March of 2015 we officially adopted its constitution and principles, and consequently renamed the church to Harvester Reformational Church Delportshoop.
In August 2015, the church strategically moved its Sunday services to a rented facility of the Gereformeerde Kerk van Suid-Afrika (GKSA/Reformed Church) in Kerk Street and decided to retain the Centre in Bredenkamp Street for outreach purposes with expanded services to contribute to the socio-economic growth in the area. It is for this reason that the HOPE Centre, refering to “Harvester Outreach Programs & Events” as a community outreach centre is being envisaged.

The Great Commission
Harvester is fulfilling Jesus’ great commission to go and make disciples of all nations and obeying His command to love God and our fellow human beings.
Based in Cape Town, South Africa, Harvester has launched numerous ministries and empowered individuals through planting churches and equipping leaders with apostolic perspective to bring about change in society.
We simply aim to “see Christ formed” in the lives of those we reach. The principles of Christ are implemented in family life, AIDS awareness, Youth and Children’s Ministry, Business Ethics and ongoing Christian Life Skills Training Programs.
Statement of Faith
- There is one God, our Creator, eternally existing in Three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- Jesus is the Son of God and Saviour of the world. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and God anointed him to heal the sick and raise the dead. His vicarious death, bodily resurrection and ascension to the right hand of God the Father are all just as real as His physical and imminent return.
- The Bible is the living word of God written by holy men inspired by the Holy Spirit and contains instruction in holy living. (Read more)
Foundation Course
For an apostolic perspective on the foundational principles of our faith, come to Harvester’s Foundation Course on Wednesdays 19h30, at a Harvester Household Meeting near you. The course uses the principles of Hebrews 6:1-2 as a starting point.
Miracle Bible College
MBC fully equips believers for accurate lifestyles in the Kingdom of God. Most bible institutions train people only for the full time ministry, neglecting the other 90% of the church’s workforce. It is important to train every believer for their specific work of ministry because everyone is is called, but in different roles and capacities.
